Hi, I’m Emma
I’ve worked in the Does Things With Computers™ industry for almost 30 years.
I started my career fixing computer software (aka telling people to turn it off and on again). Which, as you might imagine has its limits, so instead of fixing badly designed things, I moved into designing them (prevention is better than a fix).
I've had countless job titles, none of which have really meant a lot, as I'm one of those people who has a knack for finding interesting problems to solve. My skills are then a bit like a Swiss Army knife.
In the last 15 years I’ve helped the London Eye get more people buying tickets online, made it easier for people to get a degree from the Open University, saved Pearson a ton of money by reducing their digital ecosystem and helped you find information on the NHS website.
Most of these have meant better profitability for the businesses. And the NHS? I just helped save your sanity when you wanted to find information on COVID.
Outside of all things tech, I love all things film (slightly obsessed with Christopher Nolan films), music (deep house and trance, aka just about anything on the Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep labels), books (crime fiction, usually), and being a human pet bed for my two cats and dog.
